Helped organize and develop this networking organization for professionals interested in conscious aging issues in New Mexico.  Chair, 2003.  Treasurer, 2004-7.  Organized an extensive program on Conscious Aging for the NM Conference on Aging, August, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 (Chair of Keynote Committee, participant on Program Committee).

 

Aging in Place Study Group

 

2009                            Participated (by invitation) in a study group to establish measures to support the concept of seniors aging in place in Albuquerque.  Results were presented to Albuquerque City Council

 

Education and Training (Since 1997):

 

With the exception of the hospice volunteer training, all training programs listed were for certification as a teacher of Conscious Aging, a psychological/spiritual model of becoming an Elder in today’s world. Conscious Aging (also sometimes called Spiritual Eldering, Sage-ing and Vital Aging) focuses on second half of adult life issues including life review, forgiveness work, healing painful memories, facing our mortality, lifelong learning, celebrating community and family, service work, finding one’s passions, spirituality, becoming an “Elder of the Tribe” and legacy work.
